While the company founder was working for a large advertising agency, he was managing a successful technology account in California and looking into new ways his client could break out of the tired Silicone Valley marketing mold.

As his client prepared for its next big product launch, he was driving through Silicone Valley and noticed a very large delivery tractor trailer rig delivering products to a large offi ce complex. Throughout the day, he continued to notice how many blank tractor trailers were running around the valley, either on major streets or the interstates.

These trucks are powerful and plentiful. The “ah hah” moment came when he thought about wrapping a number of Silicone Valley fl eet vehicles and basically saturating the valley with these vehicles for his client’s next product launch.

It seemed like the perfect BIG IDEA! Unfortunately, over time, he concluded there was really no way of pulling the project off. Trucking companies weren’t doing anything like it. Printers didn’t know how to leverage a large fl eet. And billboard companies had their hands full.

Even with 60% of transportation fl eets completely unbranded, there was no scalable way to take advantage of these amazing, moving advertising canvases.

That’s when Chrome Media was born… during a Silicon Valley commute.

Today, Chrome Media has partnered with multiple transportation partners to access the nation’s largest network of metro-specifi c and regional moving billboards – making the opportunity available to any size company interested in building brand awareness and making recognition pay.
